Dog Rescue Dog Smart

Right this minute, a dog is being rescued from an abusive environment.

I have always had rescue dogs and found that there is something special in the love that these dogs give us. It’s almost as if they know that we have given them a second chance. Every dog in our lives is a gift, which is why I’m happy to share -Social Media and Dog Rescue.

Social-media will continue to influence in 2012 as pet- parents integrate social media-Twitter, Facebook and pet-related blogs as a daily part of their informational lives. Bloggers continue to gain respect and readership, building a small but influential community around their blogs, some of these focusing specifically on dogs that need to be adopted and dogs that are in immediate danger of abuse.

Is your shelter or rescue organization getting the most out of social media when it comes to adoption promotions? Writing great adoption promotional messages with the best potential for viral spread helps place rescue dogs in wonderful homes, in a much shorter time frame. Pinterest, a network optimized for the type of sharing that works for pet adoption is currently under-utilized by dog shelter and rescue groups.

Using social media to get traditional media attention and more ,increases the lifesaving of homeless dogs and cats worldwide.A great example of this are the YouTube videos posted by Hope for Paws, a non -profit organization that posts videos of their often dramatic street rescues.Fiona was  rescued more than a year ago by Eldad and Audrey Hagar. This clip has been watched by more than 1 million viewers since it made it’s debut a week ago.

Let’s strive to support social media and work towards helping find rescue dogs great homes. Here’s to helping all dog shelters and rescues and creating comfortable lives for all dogs worldwide!
