BRAIN TAPEWORMS IN YOUR DOGS

Brain tapeworms may be so much more common than you think.

These disgusting and life threatening parasites affect the nervous system and are referred to as neurocysticercosis.These parasites are found in tapeworms found in pigs called the taenia solium.

Brain tapeworms are larvae that can attach themselves to the cranium in the form of large white cysts. The larvae flows through the bloodstream and actually becomes stuck inside the fluid filled cavities in your dog’s brain. It then becomes attached to the brain and masks itself from the immune system. The larvae then continuous to form vast networks throughout the brain.
