The Glen of Imaal Terrier originates from Ireland, in the county of Wicklow.This dog was bred for hunting foxes, badgers and other small prey.The Glen of Imaal Terrier is often times mentioned in Irish Literature, and has been bred for many hundreds of years.
Description:This breed is short, strong and has a long body rather than tall.With a large,intelligent head, black nose,the Glen Of Imaal Terrier has round, brown eyes and ears that are half up.This breed has well-boned forelegs and a wide chest with powerful hindquarters.Double -coated- sometimes a more course outer coat and soft-undercoat.Coloring varies-sometimes blue,wheaten or brindle.

Weight: 35 pounds
Temperament: This smart breed is feisty, fun and intelligent.Although territorial, the Glen of Imaal Terrier is a wonderful companion and is great with family.Being highly trainable and often said to be less excitable than other terriers ,this fun terrier is most times good with cats and children, though at times not so good with other dogs.
Activity: Low to  Moderate
The Glen of Imaal Terrier is easy to look after, either in the city or countryside.
Needs: Socialization, positive training, exercise ,daily grooming.
Health concerns: Allergies.

Very interesting. I don’t believe I have seen a Glen of Imaal here in South Africa. They sound like fabulous dogs.
Now that is a gorgeous bundle of deliciousness! Never met one before but will keep our eyes open.
